Bishop Search: for the 9th Bishop of Western Massachusetts. The search continues as the list of candidates has been reduced to five.

The candidates for Bishop will be presented to the Diocese at a series of events that have come to be known in The Episcopal Church as "Walk Abouts." Walk Abouts are an opportunity for both the delegates to the electing convention (to be held June 2nd) and other interested members of the Diocese to meet and hear from the candidates in a series of events around Western Massachusetts.

"Walk Abouts" are scheduled as follows: Monday, May 21 at St. Stephen's Church, Pittsfield, 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 22 at Church of the Atonement, Westfield at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 22 at St. James Church, Greenfield, at 7 p.m., and finally Thursday, May 24 at Church of the Nativity, Northborough, 7 p.m.

The following link will take you to the diocese web page on the search; there you can see a detailed profile of each of the five candidates. http://www.wmassbishopsearch.org/Candidates.html

  St. Marks GOLF OUTING.

With our earliest start date ever (April 10), our 8th Annual Saint Mark's Spring Golf Outing thankfully enjoyed seasonable weather and near-record attendance! The 4-person team scramble results spanned from 3-over to 10-under-par. Twenty-one team birdies were carded along with one team eagle. Sporadic 20-mph wind gusts likely contributed to three of the four closest-to-the-pin winning shots exceeding 34 feet from the pin and the longest drive approaching three hundred yards! The unofficial shot-of-the-day had to be the 40 yard eagle pitch on the par 4 15th hole made by a golfer still recovering from cervical disc surgery which limited his participation to mostly chipping and putting! All golfers received sleeves of golf balls and commemorative photos all containing the inspirational words "I Am Here With You". The golfer's generosity again shined through as Saint Mark's received three hundred dollars in total donations from the day! Thank you to all who participated! Tony Carpenito
