Doing what in my flesh
I did not want to do

by Brenda Milner

Well I am so blessed today that I couldn't wait to write down the day I have had.

I was at training at work today and one the most incredible experiences of my life happened.

A woman who arrived with another person did not have a ride home due to "unforseen circumstances." That's another story in itself.

As the trainer and this woman were looking for a way for her to get back to Natick by train, I heard a still small voice say, "take her home." I ignored the voice knowing of the long day that I had at work and I could be home in 20 minutes from Worcester. Still the voice persisted, "take her home." Then I said to this voice, "It's 30 miles out of the way." Still the voice came back with, "take her home."

So, guess what I did? I took her home, but not before this divine intervention took shape. As I got on to the Mass Pike via the toll booth, there was an accident and a back up for miles. I prayed and made the decision to go WEST instead of east to avoid traffic and find an alternate route. With the help of my husband who was at home, I found another route. I would have to go around the pike and come down route 9 the back way.

On the way to her house somehow she brought up "religion." Anyhow to make a long story shorter, I told her my testimony and she told me she had been searching and wasn't sure about all this religion stuff. She asked me the difference between protestant and catholic. I told her that they were minor differences, but what draws all denominations together was their belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

WOW! I can't believe this whole experience.

Blessings for me? A full tank of gasoline compliments of my passenger. An incredible opportunity to witness and be an ear to someone who needed to chat.

On my way home after dropping her off, as I once again pulled back on to the Mass Pike, the song, "In the Name of Love" by U2 was playing on the radio.

I can't imagine all the blessings that I would of missed, If I had not listened to that still small voice of Jesus speaking to me. Praise God and the power of the Holy Spirit!
