Vegetable Gardeners

St Mark’s is in the second year of the parish ministry that is part of the National Episcopal Church’s Good News Gardening program.  The goal of the St Mark’s Good News Gardening ministry is to ask parishioners and any friends who wish to participate to plant extra vegetables and fruits this season and bring in some of their harvest to the church on Sundays.  We will then bring the collective contributions to Ginny’s Food Pantry.  While most of us will only be able to contribute a small amount each week, collectively, if enough people participate, we can provide a sizable amount of fresh healthy produce to those who need it most.  Ginny’s would be appreciative of any contribution we can provide, since they never have enough fresh food for the people they help.  We plan to begin collections at the church as soon as the harvesting begins, possibly as early as late May for the spring vegetables.

All are welcome to join our Good News Gardening meetings which are held on the first Monday of the month at 7 PM in the Parish Hall.  If you are interested but have limited gardening experience or space, we will work with you by providing mentorship and/or plants in containers.

If are interested in learning more please come to our meetings or feel free to contact Frank Ruggiero at 508-331-4447 or fh_ruggiero@yahoo.com
